France’s presidency of the EU Council

For the first half of 2022, France will be in charge of the EU agenda, as it takes over the rotating presidency of the Council of the EU, the body in charge of coordinating policies and pushing proposals into law. What are the expectations and policy priorities? How will the French elections influence France’s role during its EU presidency? And how will President Macron balance the EU presidency and the French elections?

Join us Wednesday January 26th, at 18:00 CET, as we discuss this topic with French ambassador to Norway Pierre-Mathieu Duhamel and Professor of Contemporary European History Lise Rye (NTNU), with Associate Professor and host of podcast “France explained”, Franck Orban as moderator. This event will be digital. Link to the event will be published on our Facebook page before the event.
